Valentines Day

Well Valentines day is here again, another year has come and gone. Holidays seem to fly by just long enough to remind us that they come once a year. I wanted to hear some thoughts the whole idea behind valentines, since there always seems to be such a wide spread of opinions about the day. Under any circumstances in our lives. Here are just a few random wikipedia facts on the holiday.

Saint Valentine's Day, commonly shortened to Valentine's Day, is an annual commemoration held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions. The day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs, Saint Valentine, and was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. It was deleted from the Roman calender of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI, but its religious observance is still permitted. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

  2. I personally love Valentines Day! This year, like most years i'm completely single but I still love that there is still love in the world. I can't believe that there isn't some amazing girl that has snatched you up yet! You are the most wonderful person I know and ANY girl would be lucky to have you even pay her attention.
